Congratulations on taking the first step toward achieving a healthier, more balanced life for yourself.  Therapy is a courageous journey that not enough people embark upon, but for the ones that do, the benefits can be profound.  I believe, we all have a tremendous ability to handle the traumatic events that occur in our lives.  Through your courageous journey, you will discover that your True Self wasn't extinguished by trauma and that it's only obscured. We build up defenses, strategies or "parts" of ourselves to get us through our lives.  At some point, we might realize that these parts of ourselves are no longer working the way they used to and may even be causing more problems than they solve.  This is when the support of a caring professional can help you unburden the negative beliefs that you carry and help you achieve harmony and balance in your life. All parts are welcome.
